This 45-page document is an academic master's thesis, not a Premonition report. It was submitted to the Rechtsgeleerdheid (law) program at Tilburg University by student S.T.L.A. Mulders, under the supervision of Mr. G. van Dijck with Mr. drs. J.J.G. Braspenning as second reader. Although it covers Dutch litigation, the thesis itself is written in English.
The stated method is straightforward: automated software crawlers gathered records from roughly 15,000 Dutch court cases decided between 2013 and 2016, along with information on about 3,800 lawyers who appeared in them. The research question driving the study, stated plainly in its title, is which type of lawyer wins most cases — an empirical, data-driven attempt to answer something usually left to reputation and referral.
As a piece of independent legal-empirics scholarship, the thesis stands on its own academic merits; it is included here as third-party research that applies the same data-driven approach to litigation outcomes found in Premonition's own work.
